Grange Valley Primary School has for many years worked alongside neighbouring schools in the local area, and beyond, to help and support teachers and school leaders. We have been asked to support other schools, in a range of ways, as part of the school improvement system.

Our Head, Mrs. Dianne Holcroft is an NLE (National Leader of Education) and has had experience of being an Executive Head of Wargrave C of E Primary School, securing them a stable platform to move forward from RI to Good. As an NLE, she also works with the DFE to support schools in a variety of other ways dependent on circumstance. She is passionate about supporting other leaders as she has first-hand experience of the challenges leaders face. She wants to grow new generations of teachers and leaders with the skills and confidence they will require. She is particularly keen that all children get the very best opportunities that we can provide.

Developing teaching and leadership

We have access to a number of staff, in our own school and beyond, who are SLEs (Specialist Leaders of Education) in a range of different areas of expertise and have supported other middle and senior leaders in their own schools in a variety of capacities such as co-coaching, shared planning, mentoring, lesson observations, learning walks around school, deep dives for subject areas, preparing for Ofsted and using evidence based interventions.

As a support school, we recognise the need for all professionals to keep up to date. We encourage staff to read and provide ideas and literature for reading, along with professional reading time. As part of our network, we invite speakers to share current thinking and ideas and liaise with colleagues around any learning from this.
